Nominees selected as honorees must meet the minimum four criteria established by Liberian Awards.
First, honorees must be Liberian or Liberian descent. This requirement creates a sense of community and demonstrates possibilities for youths in the Diaspora.
Second, honorees must have Master's degree or ten years of experience indicating an acquisition of knowledge and experience beyond a four year degree.
Third, honorees must show career advancement in area of study demonstrating ability to excel academically and professionally. As mentors, honorees are expected to guide youths in both academic and professional ambitions.
Fourth, honorees must have desire to mentor youths since they will be required to mentor scholarship recipients in their field of study.
Lastly, selected honorees must be willing to contribute to future Liberian Awards events through support, attendance, nominations, scholarships, etc…
